This site is free to read and is paid for by advertising and, in places, by affiliate links. This page explains exactly what that means and what it does not.
What an affiliate link is
A link where, if you click through and then buy or sign up for something, we may be paid a commission. It costs you nothing extra and the price is the same as going direct.
Where they appear
Any link that earns us something is marked as such on the page carrying it, not only here. If a link is not marked, it does not pay us.
What it does not affect
Nobody pays to be recommended here, to be described favorably, or to be included at all. Wage figures, statutory requirements, growth projections and every other number on this site come from government sources that have no commercial relationship with us and no interest in what we say.
Where we compare options, the comparison is the same whether an option pays us or not. If we would not recommend something to someone who asked us in person, we do not recommend it here.
Advertising
The site also carries ordinary display advertising. Advertisers do not choose what we publish, do not see our articles before they appear, and have no say in what a page says.
Why we tell you
Because the Federal Trade Commission requires it, and because a recommendation you cannot audit is worth less than one you can.
